Viola Knutson

Viola W Knutson left this world holding her husband's hand, walking towards the lord and savior on Monday 19, 2013. Born in Vergennes Illinois on May 1st, 1931 to Elva Wells Landreth and Myrtle Fox Landreth. She was the 8th of 10 children and she has 2 surviving siblings; Arthur (June) Landreth and Clyde Bruce (Linda) Landreth. Losing her mother at 9 years old, she traveled to Oakland California and then back to Jerome Idaho. That is where she met Loren G. Knutson who she married in a beautiful orchard with two other couples at the same time! This triple wedding (which was posted in the local paper) happened on July 7th, 1946 and was later sealed in the temple September 12th, 1984. Viola had 6 children while also taking in her sister's 3 children for 2 years as well as her husband's cousin's 5 children for only a year. As an avid reader, she and two 2 friends went to city hall trying and succeeding to start up a bookmobile right here in Tooele County. She and Loren also helped to start a square dancing club and a riding club. She was an amazing Avon Reprehensive for 42 years while being #1 in the county. She has even signed up someone you know. She helped build the house she's lived in for years, even helped out by working on the roof. She also would help Loren work the septic tank cleaning business, by cleaning him off with a hose if he fell in. She would volunteer at the Grantsville Senior Center. She loved helping others and her little town. She also had many church callings such as the library, and scouting were her favorites. She absalutly loved singing in the ward choir and with the Relief Society in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Her 5 sons and daughter are her pride and joy. Barry (Pam), Ramona Hurst, Steven, Ricky (Barbara), Doug (Brenda) and Roger She was preceded in death by her husband Loren, parents, 7 siblings, in-laws, husband's siblings and spouses, and grandson Cody Knutson. She leaves behind her 6 children and spouses, 2 brothers and spouses, 2 brother-in-laws and spouses, and a sister-in-law, 24 grandchildren and spouses, 31 1/2 (the half hasn't been born yet) great grandchildren. There will be a viewing on Friday August 23, 2013 at 6pm to 8pm at the LDS 3rd ward located at 428 S. Hale St, Gransville, Ut. Services will start at 11am with a viewing at 10am on Saturday August 24 2013. Services entrusted with Didericksen Memorial, 435-277-0050.
