Thomas Lloyd Randle

April 30, 1940 — June 24, 2023

Grantsville

Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Thomas Lloyd Randle, 83, passed away on June 24, 2023 after a long and courageous battle with dementia.

Tom was born April 30, 1940 in Provo, Utah to Lloyd and Dora Carlson Randle.  He was raised in Eureka, Utah, and claimed it was the best place a boy could grow up.  He graduated from Tintic High School in 1958 where he participated in the band and played basketball.  He graduated with a  B.S. degree from Utah State University in 1966 and he remained a loyal Aggie for the rest of his life.  He married his eternal companion, Mary Austin on August 25, 1962 in Nephi, Utah. They were later sealed in the Bountiful LDS Temple.

Together they raised two sons and three daughters and made their home in Grantsville, Utah. Tom loved his family dearly.  I know he felt their love and appreciated the tender care that they showed to both he and their mother.   His greatest joy was spending time with them going camping, going on vacations, and having family get-togethers.   He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially with his sons. His grandchildren were very special to him..He loved them to come for sleep-overs and he always cooked bacon and pancakes for them.   Tom also enjoyed spending time with good friends.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  He was thankful for his membership.  He served in the Salt Lake Temple with Mary and felt blessed to have that opportunity.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, of 61 years, their five children, Michael (Kim) Randle, Tonya (Jeff) Hamm, Kathy Randle, Scott (Christie) Randle and Lori (Ben) Ray, as well as thirteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two more on the way. Also survived by his sister, Diane (Jim) Derry, a sister-in-law, Margaret (Brent) Hawkins, as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.  Funeral services will be on Friday, June 30 at 11:00 am with a viewing  before from 10:00 - 11:00 am.  All services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 428 South Hale Street in Grantsville, UT.   Interment will be at the Grantsville City Cemetery.

Tom’s family would like to express a special thanks to Cottage Glen Assisted Living, Canyon Home Health and Hospice, and all of the caregivers who took great care of him and supported his wife during his last couple of months.  We are grateful and appreciate the compassion and support from our friends, neighbors, the Grantsville 4th Ward, and Didericksen Memorial.
