Stanton P. Steuri passed away peacefully on November 26, 2020 in Salt Lake City, UT with his wife of sixty seven years, Barbara, by his side. Stanton was born on Aug 18,1931, in Monroe, WI, to Helen Elizabeth Silver and Peter F. Steuri. Stanton grew up surrounded by journalism. He was the youngest owner/editor of a newspaper in the state of Wisconsin. The Albany Herald was run with his mother and his wife. That paper was sold when Stanton got called for Active Duty with B Company, 32nd Division,128th Infantry Co during the Berlin Crisis in 1961. Upon his return he worked for The Monroe Times as Production Manager and Acting Editor until 1975. He then moved West, which he had always wanted to do. He was honorably discharged, as a Major, after 33 yrs. During his time roaming the West, he became a realtor for Century 21. He and his beloved German Shepherd, Maggie, were very active in Rocky Mountain Search and Rescue. He went on to be a car dealer and also did police work. He bought and sold an A&W, served on a church board, worked as an EMT, and ultimately became a Methodist Pastor, serving Weston, CO, and then Upton, WY. Stanton is survived by his wife, Barbara, daughter, Sally Crossley, son “Pete” Steuri, and daughter, Susan Romans. He has eight grandchildren, and twenty-eight great grandchildren.
