In the early morning hours of March 15th Russell David Miles left this life to join his sister
Cortney, his niece Brylee, Grandparents, Aunt and other relatives in eternity.
There were so many facets to Russell’s life. As a little boy, he joined his family in racing horses and showing horses. As he got older he showed livestock (Pigs) at the Tooele County livestock show. His favorite sport to participate in was football.
Russell loved the outdoors – in all forms. He loved watching Drey, Kye, Kash and Hunter play baseball and football. He loved camping and fishing, and most of all he loved being out hunting with his Dad and nephew, and training the family dogs for retrieving hunt tests.
He loved being home with Mom and Dad, visiting and just being home and enjoying the simple life.
Above all else, Russell was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He lived his life the way the military trained him, and he loved to serve. Through the Army he gained a lifelong career as a diesel mechanic a job that he was proud of, and he loved with Transwest. But like so many who have served, the scars of war took its toll. He was finally able to begin getting his life and his mind back to a positive place.
Russell leaves behind a heartbroken family, many good friends, and the love of his life Tara, her son Hunter, and their family, who were his reason to get healthy.
Russell is survived by his Parents, Larry and Peggy Miles, his Brother Raymond (Holli) Miles, his Sister Melissa (Sunne) Couvrette, their Sons, Drey, Kye, and Kash, his beloved Grandma Karen Bruce, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He joins Grandpa Dennis and Grandma Faye Miles, Grandpa Bill Bruce and will meet his Grandma Sharon Bruce. He will also meet his Niece Brylee and Aunt Vicky and finally be back with his Sister Cortney Bruce.
There will be a viewing on Friday March 24th from 11:30 – 12:45 at the church on 115 E Cherry Street, in Grantsville, after which a graveside service will be held at the Grantsville Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Russell’s name to The Wounded Warriors.
Always tell your loved ones “I Love You”, it may be your last chance.
