Richard Warner

Richard Keith Warner, 68, returned to his Heavenly Father December 24, 2014. He was born September 4, 1946 in Tooele, Utah to Grant and Elaine Bentley Warner. He attended schools in Tooele and graduated from Tooele High in 1964, where he excelled at basketball and football. Dad married his eternal companion, Shauna Gene Castagno April 12, 1968 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised nine children, Toni (Karl) Scott, Jackie (Clint) Remick, Clint (Jessica) Warner, Todd (MariKay) Warner, Paula (Jason) Gillespie, Graig (Jamie) Warner, Blake (Josh) Warner, Amanda (Jason) Jones, and Michael (Ashlee) Warner. They also have 26 grandchildren with another due in February, and two great-grandchildren. Dad is also survived by mother-in-law Betty Castagno, Brother Gene (Sharon) Warner, Sister Linda Warner, brothers-in-law Tom (Jodi) Castagno, Leo (Becky) Castagno, and many extended family members and friends. He joins his Parents, father-in-law Gene Castagno, sister-in-law Kim Castagno, nephew Randy Warner and other loved ones in a joyous reunion in the presence of our Heavenly Father. Dad coached many youth teams where he passed on his love and knowledge of sports. He was actively employed throughout his life at various companies in Tooele County where he made many lifelong friends. Dad always had a passion for his job at Anaconda where he would have stayed had the mine not closed. Dad’s greatest accomplishment will always be his wife and family. He enjoyed every minute he spent at their sporting events, rodeos, recitals, school or church programs. Richard was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where he fulfilled many callings. His favorite callings were serving in the branch presidency at the local jail and more recently as a primary teacher in the Lakeview Ward. A viewing will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Pine Canyon Church as well as 9:30 - 10:30 AM prior to the funeral. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 11:00 AM. All services will be held at the Pine Canyon Church 2032 Churchwood Drive, under the direction of Didericksen Memorial. We love you and will miss you Dad, but we know that we will see you again.
