Richard Leland Castagno passed away on Saturday, Sept 6, 2014 in his home in Grantsville. He was born in Grantsville on November 12, 1939 to Tony and Wavie Castagno. He graduated from Tooele High School with the class of ’58. Married Joan Bennett (Anderson) on March 12, 1959 in the Salt Lake Temple. They are the parents of five children Toni (Harold) Betts of Lake Point, Suzanne Brown (Dave Nix) of Grantsville, Richard Lee Castagno of Portland, Oregon, BJ (Bruce) (Jennifer) Castagno of Grantsville, Paul Castagno of Grantsville. 19 grandchildren. 11 great grandchildren. He has three brothers Claude, Doug (June) of Grantsville, Wendell (Peg) of Tooele and sister Ireta Lindway of Tooele. Preceded in death by parents, sister Elva Wood, brothers, Gene, LeVere, Myron, and Tony Jr. Custodian of Grantsville High for 30 years. Served the community as a Fireman, EMT, City Councilman, and Ring man for livestock for 42 yrs. Life of ranching and farming. He had a strong testimony and served the Lord in many callings. Scoutmaster, Branch President in Pahrump, Nev. Served in bishoprics and high priest group leadership. His most important calling was that of husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Service to be held on Thursday, Sept. 11th at 12:00 pm at the Durfee Stake Center. 550 East Durfee St. in Grantsville. Viewings to be held on Wednesday, Sept. 10th from 6-8 pm and on Thursday, Sept. 11th from 10-11:30 at the Durfee Stake Center. Burial in Grantsville Cemetery.
