Ramona Rae Knutson Hurst, age 76, returned home to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 2, 2025.
Ramona was born in 1949 in Wendell, Idaho, to Loren G. Knutson and Viola W. Landreth. She was one of six siblings, 4 of whom have preceded her in death, with the exception of her brothers Roger and Ricky, who remain to honor her memory.
Ramona was member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a woman of quiet strength, with a love for meaningful hobbies that reflected her thoughtful nature. Ramona enjoyed cross-stitching, writing poetry, and creating beautiful scrapbooks filled with memories and cherished moments.
Family was at the heart of Ramona’s life. Though she was not blessed with children of her own, she had a deep and abiding love for all children and formed bonds with many of her nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She especially looked forward to family reunions, where she proudly served as the family historian—preserving stories, collecting memories, and ensuring that generations to come would know history of the Knutson family.
Ramona graduated from Grantsville High School in the Class of 1967 and remained closely tied to her hometown and community throughout her life. In her later years, she lovingly cared for her mother, a role she embraced with compassion and dedication.
Ramona is survived by her brothers Roger and Ricky, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A graveside service will be held in her honor on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 12:00 noon at the Grantsville City Cemetery, located at 426 East Main Street. A brief viewing for family will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Didericksen Memorial in Grantsville, Utah.
