It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Otilia Polaco (Tillie), age 86, of Tooele, Utah. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, on March 23, 2026. Tillie lived a beautiful and full life and is now reunited in heaven with the love of her life, Isaac Jose Polaco (Ike).
Otilia was born on May 18, 1939, in Taos, New Mexico, to Estefanita and Victoriano Gonzales.
She met Ike on a blind date, and together they built a love story that lasted a lifetime. They were married for 61 years and raised four children, creating a home centered on love, devotion, and family. In 1967, Tillie and Ike moved to Tooele, Utah, where they built their life, raised their family, and formed lifelong friendships.
Tillie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose family was her greatest joy. She had a strong spirit, a warm heart, and a playful nature that brought light to those around her. She loved caring for others and dedicated much of her life to serving as a CNA, compassionately caring for those in need.
Her faith was an important part of her life. She was a devoted Catholic and an active member of St. Marguerite Catholic Church, where she built meaningful friendships and lived out her values of love and service.
Tillie is survived by her children, Beverly (Scott) Hanson, Joyce Polaco, Veronica (Herman) Herrera, and Chris (Cheri) Polaco; her grandchildren, Lorenzo, Priscilla, Angie, Tiffany, Steffany, Cherise, Aleesha, Jake, Jacklyn, Toni, Jesus, Aaron, Kai, and Christopher Jr.; 21 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Ermo (Liz) Gonzales and Liberato (Josie) Gonzales; her sister, Rosa Garcia; her brother-in-law, Tranquilino Lopez; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac (Ike) Polaco; her parents; and her brothers, sisters, and other loved ones.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Cottage Glen for their loving care, kindness, and compassion.
Services will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at St. Marguerite Catholic Church. The Rosary will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow at the Tooele City Cemetery.
Tillie will be deeply missed and forever loved.
