Michael Valdez
“Cowboy Mike” Our beloved “Cowboy Mike” returned to our Heavenly Father while at home surrounded by family and friends. Michael Matthew Valdez was born 9/16/62 in Salt Lake City to Roger and Steffie Valdez. He was lovingly raised by Robert(father) and Steffie Valdez in the West Valley/Kearns area with his 7 brothers and sisters. Mike had 2 beautiful daughters Mindi Lee Herzog & Melissa Camille Valdez. Mike worked in the ICU Medical Building for 32 years where he met the love of his life in 1990. His “Baby Face” Lisa. They married on 2/29/92. Lisa had 3 children Tessie, Christopher and Antonio Montoya. In 1992 they had Michael Jesse X-On Valdez. 6 children in all. Mike enjoyed spending time playing and watching football, softball, fishing, hunting, 4 wheeling, camping, singing, watching John Wayne movies and “cruzing” on his Harley. Mike was always surrounded with family and friends. Mike was the most loyal Dallas Cowboy’s fan he never missed a game, he was even able to attend a few games with family and friends. Mike’s constant smile and playful attitude brought joy to all he met. Mike was a unique individual with the most beautiful soul. “Love you like a rock” To all who participated in the benefits that were held to aid in Mike’s battle with cancer Thank you! Mike is survived by his wife Lisa and their children: Michael Jesse X-on Valdez, Mindi Lee(Jimmy) Herzog, Melissa (Cody) Henderson, Tessie, Christopher, and Antonio (Vanessa) Montoya 11 grandchildren 5 of which Mike and Lisa adopted. Parents: Robert and Steffie Valdez, Pricilla Valdez, Joe and Tessie Santistevan. Brothers: Tony (Laura) Valdez, Steve (Nancy) Valdez, Robert Valdez and Roger (Dawn) Valdez. Sisters: Julie Valdez, Valerie Leo, Tonya Juarez, Trista (Bryan) Byerly, Liz (Jared) Crane, Jessica Valdez. Grandparents: Jose and Gertrude Aragon, Manuel and Benina Olonia. In-laws: Bridget (Carlos) Valle-Torres, Natalie (Anthony)Trujillo & Manny (Belinda) Lizarraga. Mike is preceded in death by: Father Roger Valdez, Grandparents Jose & Maria Valdez, Refugio Ponce & Jean E. Saldivar, Gelasia Banda, Nephew Chase Covington, Tio Floyd Romero, Tio Robert Aragon and Cousin Lisa Ortega, Cousin Frankie Aragon. Funeral services will be held Wed, 5/16/12, at 11:00 am at the Life Church, 4700 S 3818 W, WVC. There will be a viewing the night prior from 6-8 pm at the same location, as well as an hour prior the the service. Mikes “Last Ryde” will take him to his final resting place at the Tooele Cemetery 361 South 100 East. All Motorcycles are encouraged to be a part of his final ride.
