Lori Callister Palmer

August 21, 1959 — March 20, 2022

Lori Callister Palmer

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, coach, and friend, Lori Callister Palmer, passed away peacefully at the age of 62 on March 20, 2022, surrounded by her family. Lori is preceded in death by her father, Gary Lloyd Callister; grandparents, John Lloyd and Louise Callister and Charles and Virginia Palmer; father and mother-in-law, Keene and Twyla Palmer.

Lori was born on August 21, 1959, to Gary and Sharon Callister. She was raised in Grantsville Utah with her three younger sisters, Staci, Traci, and Lisa.  Lori shared a very special bond with her father who instilled a love and appreciation for sports that would be a passion of hers throughout her lifetime. Lori was a very talented athlete throughout her youth and received athletic scholarship to play softball and volleyball at Dixie College. Lori loved the community where her parents raised her and would speak fondly of her childhood growing up in Grantsville. Lori adored her sisters and remained lifelong best friends with each of them.

Lori married Michael Kim Palmer on October 11, 1980 in Grantsville, Utah. Together they raised four sons, Adam, Nick, Jordan, and Brody. Lori loved her family dearly and dedicated her life to them. Together with her husband, countless happy memories were made with their boys; playing sports, camping, fishing, and getting together for big family dinners. Lori loved her sons fiercely and was the biggest fan and supporter to each of them. Lori found much joy in raising her boys and cheering each of them on in their individual pursuits and interests.

After raising four boys, Lori was blessed with seven granddaughters – Paige, Kaitlin, Kalissa, Kimber, Kori, Madelyn, and Abigail. Grandma Lori was adored by each and every one of them. From countless ballgames, to practice birthday parties, she made the most of every moment with her granddaughters.

Lori shared her passion for sports with many in the Grantsville community throughout the years. She coached many young women at Grantsville High School in softball, volleyball, and tennis. Lori was very dedicated to her role as coach and found much joy and purpose in mentoring and building relationships with her players, many of which have lasted her lifetime. Lori was a very loving, compassionate, and kind person. In life, Lori was a natural coach to all who had the opportunity to know her. She was always the most understanding person to talk to and helped all of us realize what we have in ourselves to overcome any challenge or obstacle.

Lori is survived and will be dearly missed by her husband, Kim Palmer, four sons, Adam, Nick, Jordan (Angela), and Brody; mother, Sharon Callister; sisters, Staci (Doug) Tate, Traci (Ron) Olivarez, and Lisa (Todd) Montoya; seven granddaughters, many nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
