Lorena Smith

Lorena Mae Smith was a beloved mother, wife, grandmother and great grandmother and friend to many. She was born on August 19, 1929 in Gainesville, Texas to Floyd and Anna Robbins into a family of six children, with one brother, Red and four sisters, Ethel, Della, Mary and Bonnie. In 1941 she moved to California with her family where she lived until she met Walter R Smith. In 1948 she married Walter R Smith and had two children, John Lynn and Sharon Elaine. They moved to the Los Angeles area when her children were small where she landed a job as a waitress and continued in that profession until 1969 when she got a job as a clerk typist at Kwikset Lock Co. She worked there for 20 years until she retired in 1989. Five years later she moved to Sun City where she retired with her husband Ray. Lorena was blessed with 7 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and one sweet angel in heaven that she is sitting with now. Lorena’s hobbies included cake decorating, sewing, water skiing, traveling and writing. She belonged to the Assistance League, Newcomers Club and Delta Theta Chi Sorority and attended the Valley Church of Christ while living in Sun City. In July of 2009 Lorena moved to Tooele, UT where she spent the rest of her days enjoying time with her daughter, Sharon, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She liked to walk around the neighborhood and take trips to get her hair and nails done. While living in Tooele she attended the Tooele Church of Christ across from her house.
