Keith Allen

Keith Jay Allen quietly and peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family on Aug. 31. He was born May 2, 1929 in Tooele to George and Grace Allen. He played the cornet in high school and had a great love for music. He graduated from Tooele High School. He served a full-time LDS mission in the Western states. He married the love of his life, JoAnn Dingemanse, on Nov. 21, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised six children. Keith ran the family business, Allen’s Foodtown, for many years starting at a young age. He worked for USU Tooele for 15 years and enjoyed serving and mingling with the students. He was known for going above and beyond, clearing off the student’s windshields on snowy nights. He enjoyed working in his yard. His rose garden was his pride and joy and loved sharing the beautiful blooms with people he loved. He served many positions in the church. Many people in the church relied on Keith because of his knowledge of the gospel. He loved his savior and redeemer. Keith was preceded in death by his parents, George and Grace Allen, his son Keith and grandson Loren. Keith is survived by his wife JoAnn, his brother George (Alene) Allen, sister Marjorie Nelson, children John (Kathy) Allen, George (Roxie) Allen, Jo Keith, James Allen and Joyce Allen, 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and three more on the way. Services will be held Sept. 7 at noon at the Tooele 11th Ward building, 180 S. Coleman Street. A viewing will be held Sept. 6 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the same location.
