Julie Ann Hunt Sagers was born on October 23, 1959, to Merlin (Bud) Hunt and Cynthia Groskreutz in Tooele, Utah. She passed away on November 28th at the age of 66, surrounded by her family.
Julie was a proud graduate of Tooele High School. She held many jobs over the years, including First Security Bank, Deseret Chemical Depot, Energy Solutions, and eventually Rio Tinto. She instilled in her children the values of hard work.
She married Michael Sagers, and they made their home in Tooele, later settling in Rush Valley. Together they had two daughters: Heather (Dustin) Lawrence and Angela (Kenneth) Dutton. Her grandchildren—Jaydon, Connor, Blakely, Bodee, and Kennedy—were the light of her life.
Julie was a wonderful cook and homemaker. The upkeep of her home and yard were important to her, and everyone who visited never left hungry. She had many amazing qualities, one of the greatest being her unconditional love for her family. Her nieces and nephews were like her own.
She is preceded in death by her parents Bud and Cynthia; her stepfather, Dwane Yates; and her brothers Jeff Hunt and Craig Yates. She is survived by her husband, her daughters, her brother Brad (Korbi) Hunt, her sisters Kaye Crossley and Kristi (George) Perez, and her Yates siblings: Douglas (Rita), Robert (Darcee), Scott, and Suzanne (Roger).
Services will be held on Thursday, December 4th, at 11:00 a.m. at the Rush Valley LDS Ward Building, 985 N. Church Street. Interment will follow at the St. John Cemetery, with a luncheon afterward.
