Julie Johnson

April 20, 1937 — December 1, 2017

Julie Johnson

Julie Morris Johnson was born April 20, 1937 to Jack Bowring and Laura June Bridwell Morris in Detroit, Michigan. She passed into the warm embrace of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ on December 1, 2017.

Our mother was a remarkable and very memorable school teacher who dedicated over 40 years of her life to teaching children and youth. She taught music, both Spanish and English and her passion for these things were shared with students in Escalante and Roosevelt, Utah and Cassia County, Idaho. She also taught in Mission Viejo, California. Her love of music played a very important part in her life, and she devoted time after school to piano and music lessons. She graduated with both her Bachelors and Masters degrees in music from the University of Utah. While attending school, she marched in the University of Utah marching band and was a member of Lambda Delta Sigma Upsilon Sorority. She cherished her “Upsilon girls” and their lifelong sisterhood and attended yearly Upsilon reunions up until last year.

She adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Merriam Balka Morris and grandson Hesston Taylor. Survived by her six children Patrick, Claude, Ethelinda, Lynnette, Michael and Robert. Also survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

She married Charles Kirk Lyman, deceased. Later married Lynn William Johnson. Our Mom would want us to express her deep gratitude for those who quietly served her until the end. She loved you very much.
