Joseph Dee Pitts

Joseph Dee Pitts, 93, passed away peacefully from Natural Causes, in his sleep, during the early morning hours of April 17, 2023, surrounded by family, at the home of Kenneth and Jill Pitts in Tooele, Utah. He was born July 9, 1929, in Richfield, Utah, to Joseph Barclay and Emma (Riding) Pitts.

Joseph attended Piute High School and received his GED while serving in the US Army Security Agency in Japan as part of the World War II Occupation Forces. He married his sweetheart, Ilynn Taylor on June 9, 1949 in the Manti, Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They celebrated 73 years of marriage on June 9, 2022. Joseph was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings, including Temple Worker and two full-time Missions to the Philippines with his dear wife, Ilynn.
