Jenny "Tessie" Middleton

February 10, 1962 — July 3, 2023

Sandy

Our beloved wife, mother, grandma, sister, and friend Jenny Teresa (Tessie) Middleton, 61, of Sandy, Utah unexpectedly passed away at home on Monday July 3rd, 2023.

Jenny was born on February 10, 1962 to parents Dean and Karlla Hammond in Tooele, Utah. She was the fourth child of five.

Jenny grew up in Grantsville Utah, attending Grantsville High School.

When Jenny became a mom, she devoted her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Her life’s path was set. She excelled at propping up others around her, supporting them through many passions and difficulties of their lives. She made it her mission to improve the lives of others.

She was a merchandiser for many years, where she met her husband Jeff Middleton. They were married October 7th, 2000. Together they shared 22  years of love and laughter.

Jenny loved to craft all things, she would rather make it herself than buy it from a store. Holidays were huge at her house, decorating her entire yard, and sometimes the neighbors, for all to see. Baking was another one of her passions, her chocolate chip cookies were her number one hit. If there was an occasion to be had, she would bake for it.

Above all else, Jenny enjoyed being a grandma to her 13 grandkids. She would attend all sporting events, birthdays, school programs, and sometimes just show up at your house to say “hi.” Outside of her grandkids, she was known as Grandma Jenny.

Jenny had a huge heart, always helping others around her. One tradition that she enjoyed was gifting a family their Christmas each year.

Jenny was a special person whose friendly personality and beautiful smile made people feel comfortable and at ease to be around. She was a gentle, funny, clever and an amazing woman who lived a full happy life. Most importantly she was loved, and has left a special place in everyone's heart.

Jenny is preceded in death by her daughters, Jenifer Gillespie Jacobsen, and Melodi Jo Brown, and her parents Dean and Karlla Hammond.

Jenny is survived by her husband Jeff Middleton of Sandy Utah, children, Weston (Christan) Gillespie of Kamas, Utah, Kortnee (Julio) Heise of Herriman, Utah, and McKenzie (Briana) Stevens of Sandy, Utah. Mother in law Susan Middleton, 13 grandkids, and her siblings, Karlla Peterson of Grantsville, Utah, Willard (Linda) Hammond of Grantsville, Utah, Dane (Tamera) Hammond of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Marty (Lori) Hammond of Elko, Nevada.
