April 13, 1955 — December 12, 2025

Jennifer Jones, 70, wife of Pelayo Roger DeGumucio, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 12, 2025 in Soda Springs, Idaho. She died of aggressive brain cancer.

Jennifer was born April 13, 1955 in Ogden, Utah to Ruth Hutchison Jones and Ferron Robert Jones. She was married to Pelayo Roger DeGumucio for 35 years. They shared a warm and loving life together. They traveled to exotic places, even living in Columbia, South America for a short time. She developed a love for watching Barcelona soccer.

In recent years she resided in Tooele, Utah with Roger. When he passed away, she moved to Soda Springs, Idaho to be with her sister JoAnn. Jennifer fell in love with the quiet life in Soda Springs, and she especially loved her small LDS ward.

Jennifer was incredibly good with her hands. A very fast typist, she loved to crochet and will always be remembered for her beautiful hand made cards and gifts.

Jenny loved many types of music and played the piano, the guitar and the violin. She also had a beautiful singing voice and became a great fan of Andre Rieu. Her sweet, warm hearted, quiet and kind presence will be greatly missed as will her precious laugh.

She is preceded in death by her husband Pelayo Roger DeGumucio, her brother Robert Duane Jones, her stepson David Gumucio, and a granddaughter Angelina Gumucio. Surviving her are two sisters: Jacqueline Johnson of Ammon, Idaho and JoAnn Memmott of Soda Springs, Idaho as well as her stepchildren: Dante Gumucio of Asheville, North Carolina, Dina Petersen of Thousand Oaks, California, and Darin Gumucio of West Jordan, Utah as well as 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

There will be a graveside memorial in celebration of Jennifer’s life on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Grantsville North Cemetery, entrance immediately east of the Clark Historic Farm, 378 West Clark Street, Grantsville, Utah 84029.
