George Larry Rupp, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on June 4, 2013, after a long and courageous battle with Melanoma, brain and lung cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born on November 23, 1942, to George Surman Rupp and Florence Rupp in Tooele, Utah. He graduated from Grantsville High School in 1961 and attended Weber State University, University of Utah, and New York Regents College completing his Bachelor's of Science Degree in 1990. He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1967. He worked as a police officer with the Utah Highway Patrol from 1973 to 1986. He worked at Bill Anselmi's Car Dealership from 1986 to 1988, and retired from Dugway Proving Ground in 2005. He married his best friend and sweetheart Bonnie Rydalch, October 16, 1975, in Elko, Nevada. He was the father of two children, Shawn L. (Toni) Rupp and Lisa Coles. He was the proud grandfather of three grandchildren, Bethany, Carly and Jarod Coles. He is also survived by three brothers, Paul (Becky), Joe (Marsha), and Glade (Melody), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Robert Dale, Kenneth K. and Brent Noel Rupp. His wit, stories, and sense of humor will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. His hobbies included reading, guns, hunting, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Visitation will be held June 7, 2013, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Grantsville Stake Center, 115 East Cherry Street, Grantsville, UT. Visitation will also be held on June 8, 2013, from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. at the Grantsville Stake Center with the funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Grantsville City Cemetery. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the Department of Veterans' Affairs, the Huntsman Cancer Institute, Garden Terrace, and to everyone who gave of themselves to help Larry fight the good fight.
