Francis Helene Kanellos

July 7, 1933 — January 15, 2024

Tooele

Francis Helene Kanellos passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, January 15th, 2024 in Salt Lake City, UT, after suffering a severe stroke. She was 90 years old.

She loved gardening, chatting on the phone, shopping, playing with her yorkies and trips to Wendover playing her favorite slot machines while drinking Kahlua and Milk. She lived life to its fullest!

She cared deeply for her family, friends and neighbors. Anyone who knew her couldn’t help but love her. She was a woman with “spunk and attitude” and never apologized for the person that she was. You knew her love was real and her heart was pure.

She was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother. We will all miss her deeply. Her presence in our lives only made us strive to be better people.

Francis was also a loving wife to her husband Jon Kanellos for over 40 years. Jon held her hand as she drew her last breath. He lost the love of his life but Heaven gained an Angel.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, one brother, eldest son, grandson and nephew. She is survived by her husband Jon Kanellos; her daughter Carol Kanellos, her sons Lynn Catmull (Sherry), Bruce Catmull (Deanne), Randy Catmull (Brenda), Gary Catmull (Cathy), Jeff Catmull (Amy), Tony Catmull, and Mark Catmull; her brothers Robert Lindsay and David Lindsay (Judy); and her Twenty-Four Grandchildren, Fifteen Great Grandchildren and Twelve Great Great Grandchildren and their parents.

There will be a viewing for family and friends to celebrate her life on Saturday, January 20th, 2024 from 11am-1pm at the LDS Church located 4460 W Cortney Drive (2925 S) WVC, UT *There will be a luncheon to follow at the same location*

Graveside services will be the following Saturday, January 27th at 11:00AM at the Tooele City Cemetery located at 361 S 100 E, Tooele, UT

God Saw You Getting Tired
Unknown Author

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be,
So he put his arms around you and whispered,
“Come to Me”

With tearful eyes we watched you
and saw you pass away,
And although we love you dearly
we could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating
hard working hands at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best
