Douglas Scott Knutson

Douglas Scott Knutson passed away the morning of March 29th , 2023, at the age of 64, due to complications following heart surgery.

Doug was born October 5th , 1958. He was the 5th child to Loren George Knutson and Viola Winifred Knutson (Landreth). Doug grew up in Grantsville, Utah and graduated from Grantsville High School in 1977.

Right after graduating, Doug began working for Morton Salt and was a Miller there for 42 years. He had an early medical retirement due to needing both knees replaced.

Doug was a jokester, a goofy guy. He was always making funny faces and cracking jokes trying to make those around him laugh. He loved hunting and camping with his family and just being outdoors.

Doug is preceded in death by his Father (Loren Knutson), Mother (Viola Knutson), Brother (Steven Knutson), as well as several extended family members.

Doug is survived by his wife of 31 years, Brenda Knutson; his 3 children: Brian (Chelsey) Knutson, Karla (Mitchell) Wright, and Angela (Shane) Gunderson; plus a Bonus Child: Shelby (David) Smith; and 13 grandchildren. He is also survived by 3 brothers and 1 sister and many other family members.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 1st, 2023, at the LDS Chapel located at 415 W Apple St. Grantsville, UT.  There will be a viewing from 11:00 am to 12:45 pm and the funeral service will be at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at the Grantsville City Cemetery.
