Donna Elaine Filion

Donna was born on October 18, 1965, to Donald and Janet Filion in Granger, Utah. After Donna graduated from Grantsville High School in 1984, she went on to study Elementary Education at Utah State University in Logan, Utah. She continued her studies with a master's in Administration at the University of Phoenix.

Donna taught at Grantsville Elementary for 28 years and at Jordan School District for several more. She was a life-long learner and loved teaching. Her students were very important to her and she sacrificed both her time and resources to ensure the success of every child that she taught. She shared her passion for teaching through loyal friendships and mentoring. 

Although her passion was teaching, her family was central to her life. She enjoyed the time she had with friends and family. Her family especially her nieces, nephew, great-nieces, and great-nephew were her joy. She was a devoted friend, teacher, daughter, sister, and aunt who was loved by everyone who knew her.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served many years in the young women's organization. 

Donna is survived by her parents, Donald and Janet Filion of Grantsville, Utah; siblings, Katherine (Jon) Creager of Weston, Idaho, Kalynn Filion of Bountiful, Utah, Machelle (Mark) Becker of Mountain Green, Utah, Ernie (Kari) Filion of Tooele, Utah; 8 beloved nieces, 1 nephew, 4 great nieces, and 1 great nephew.

Family and friends are welcome to attend the funeral services for Donna on Saturday, February 18, 2023. Her viewing will be held from 10:30 am until noon. The funeral will follow directly after the viewing. These services will be held at Grantsville Utah West Stake Center, 115 E. Cherry St, Grantsville, Utah.
