FOREVER TOGETHER

Deloris Ruth (Hammond) Broadbent, 90, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2022.  

Deloris was born on April 10, 1932 to Leo Frank Hammond and Ruth Margaret Johnson in Grantsville, Utah. Deloris was the oldest child followed by Beverly, Neil, and Doug.

Mom grew up moving around with her dads work on the railroad, she lived in Low, Utah, Portola, California in the Feather River Canyon and Delle, Utah during her younger years. She had many wonderful stories to tellof her time growing up with her family.

Mom married her one and only sweetheart Ernest H. Broadbent on April 14,1950 in Grantsville, Utah, officiating their marriage was Francis H. Broadbent, Ernest’s father at the Broadbent family home.  They were sealed together eternally on June 18, 1957 in the Salt Lake City Temple.

Mom and dad shared an eternal love for 62 years on this earth and now in death they are eternally bound with an everlasting love never again to be separated.

Mom served in various church callings throughout her life.  Serving as a Secretary in the Relief Society Presidency and serving alongside Dad when he was called as a Ward Mission Leader and she was called as a Stake Missionary in the Grantsville 3rd Ward a calling they both loved dearly.

Dad and mom loved to do woodworking and crafts for their children and friends dad would make the patterns and mom would paint them. Mom crocheted many beautiful dolls, and crafts which are enjoyed today by her children and grandchildren.

They spent a few years together being snowbirds in Quartzite, AZ and loved their time there and made many wonderful friends.  Mom was a fantastic seamstress and when her children were younger, she sewed all of their clothes.

Mom worked many years as waitress, a cashier, and a bookkeeper.  She loved all of her jobs and treasured all the friends she made throughout the years.

Most of all she loved and cherished all of her children, grandchildren, great, and great-great grandchildren.

Deloris is survived by her children Kathy(Dave) Keate, Joyce (Blaine) Fawson, Richard (Cindy) Broadbent, Bobbi Sue (Bob) Weyland and Sheryl Dee (Rob) Prier. 

She was blessed with 16 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Ernest, her father and mother, her sister and brothers, a granddaughter Jenny Lynn Prier Dadey and a great granddaughter Tosha Trujillo.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the Grantsville 12th Ward Chapel at 428 S Hale St.  Grantsville, Utah.  There will be a viewing from 9:30-10:30 am prior to the service which will be held at 11:00 am.  Interment will be at the Grantsville City Cemetery.
