Carol Bowers Hammond beloved Sister, Aunt and Friend, and faithful servant of Jesus Christ passed away surrounded by her family and friends on May 22, 2016. Born October 8, 1949 to George Fredrick and Lucille Bowers Hammond in the Tooele Valley Hospital. She lived in and attended school in Grantsville, Utah. After graduating, Carol attended and graduated from Robert Stewart Beauty College passing her state boards in the top 5% of her class. After a few years of owning her own Beauty shop, Carol returned back to school where she received her equivalent associates’ degree in business. After graduating she started working for the LDS church where she faithfully worked for the Family History Department for 41 years before retiring in October 2015. As a member of the LDS Church she served faithfully in many callings. Carol participated in the Festival of Trees for many years with her special friends. She loved to bake, sew and in her later years tole paint. Never having children, she adored and doted her 2 nieces and 2 nephews often spoiling them rotten. Carol is survived by her brother G. David (Stacy) Hammond of Grantsville, Utah. Sister, Christine Smith of West Jordan, Utah. Nephews Micheal (Danette) Hammond of Grantsville, Utah, Jeffrey Hammond of San Diego, California. Nieces Tamara (Travis) Hallman of Powell Wyoming, Jennifer Hammond of Denver Colorado. Great Nephews: Samuel Hallman, Spencer Hallman. Great Nieces: Errin Hammond, Payton Hammond, Rachel Hallman, Emily Hallman. Viewing will be held one hour prior to services at 11:00 a.m. at the Mountain View 3rd Ward, 2901 West 9000 South Saturday, May 28, 2016. Interment in the Grantsville City Cemetery. Services entrusted with Didericksen Memorial, 435-277-0050.
