Brenda Kay Knutson

July 25, 1952 — October 13, 2025

Grantsville

Brenda Kay Knutson (Brown) passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, at the age of 73.Brenda grew up in Tooele, where she graduated from Tooele High School in 1971. She then worked at the Tooele Army Depot, where she met many friends—and her husband, Douglas Scott Knutson—through his sister, who also worked at the Depot.

Brenda and Doug adopted three children in 1998, and she stayed home caring for them for a few years before returning to the workforce. She worked at Deseret Industries, then in the cafeteria at Detroit Diesel and Walmart Distribution Center, before spending her last few years of employment at Flying J.

She was someone who could make friends no matter where she went. Brenda was always laughing. She loved Elvis, black and white cows, cats, and any hobbies that her husband had. She loved spending time with family, especially spoiling her grandkids.

Brenda was preceded in death by her loving husband, Douglas Knutson; her parents, Pat and Bette Brown; and her older brother, Roy Brown.

Brenda is survived by her three children: Brian (Chelsey) Knutson, Karla (Mitchell) Wright, and Angela Knutson; her bonus child, Shelby (David) Smith; and 13 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the LDS Chapel located at 415 W. Apple St., Grantsville, UT. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Grantsville City Cemetery.
