Berniece B. Palmer passed away on June 9, 2013 at home in Tooele, Utah from pancreatic cancer. She was born on November 26, 1923 in Rigby, Idaho to William Batt and Hazel Jane Lee. She grew up in the Bountiful area and graduated from Davis High School in 1941. Berniece then attended Utah State for 2 years where she met J. Kenneth Palmer, whom she later married. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 1, 1945. She lived twenty years in Grantsville before moving to Tooele in 1965. Berniece is survived by her 5 children, Kent B., Larell K. (Barbara), Marlin B. (Janiece), Lorie K. Shafer (Frank), Kenna Fletcher (Charlie); daughter-in-law, JoAnn; and a sister, Ruth Tovey. She has 25 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband; sons, Curtis Lee and Gaylen D.; parents; sister, Dorthy; brother, Bill; and a great-granddaughter, Breanna Halie White. She was an active member of the LDS church. She served a LDS mission with her husband to Baton Rouge, LA. Berniece enjoyed writing music, stories and poetry. She liked to crochet and was an avid reader. She was a member of the Emma J. Akin DUP camp. She will be missed by her family and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 15, 2013 at 12:00 noon at the Pinehurst Church located at 196 N. Pinehurst, in Tooele. A viewing will be held from 10:00-11:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment will follow at the Grantsville City Cemetery. Services entrusted with Didericksen Memorial, 435-277-0050.
